I wasn’t planning to post anymore about black hole but Minako’s website updated and the jackets got released and……..!!!! I’m too excited lol
First press limited edition CD＋DVD 1,713yen
Normal edition CD 1,241yen
Minako gone 10000% hipster?! Definitely feeling the KOTOBUKI ROCK!!!!!
On her blog Minako said it’s titled ‘black hole’ because recently she’s taken a liking to lowercase letters LOL. First press edition is in a similar pose to the one on TICK which is great I love how a lot of her CD covers are simple and in similar poses, they’re great to put adjacent to one another.

I can’t believe there are only 2 tracks…… come on Music Ray’n….
There’s a bit over three weeks til the release and the CD jacket only just got released.. I checked the website earlier today and the news page was buggy lol they must have been updating it at that time. I can’t believe how last minute Mina’s promo team is lol compared to other artists..
Anyway, looks like the limited edition also comes with stickers for you to create your own “original” CD jacket. I’m sold! Preorder both editions now!!! Might as well grab the new photobook, minakoxmuseum, as well!
Announced yesterday, Kotobuki Minako is going to release her 8th single right before her TICK TICK TICK tour on April 8 2015 (Wednesday). Title, cover and tracklist are all still to be announced.
The single is already listed as a maxi on HMV so hopefully we’ll have 3+ songs?
Limited edition comes with a DVD at 1850yen. Regular edition is 1340yen.
Minako says on her blog that “cool songs are under diligent construction”. Looking forward to more Kotobuki Rock!
Today actually marks 14 years since Nana’s debut in 2000 when she was only 20 years old. (Fun fact: she debuted on the exact same date as Koda Kumi.) I got to know her in early 2007 so it’s right in the middle and marks my 7th year knowing her lol. Not much to actually say really except CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Over the past 14 years, Nana has dished out 10 albums and 30 singles, broken several records and appeared on Kouhaku 5 times (this year will be her sixth time). She is truly a remarkable icon in the anime world and not many in Japan don’t know her name or have not heard her voice.
Appearance wise I can’t say she changed all that much apart from longer hair and… bigger eyebags lol.
Nana in 2000.
Nana in 2014.
Way more than 14 years ago but I felt compelled to share in the midst of nostalgia lol.
Surely many more successes and happy stories await.
As always…. 水樹奈々に・・・・かかってこい！！！！
Hocchan’s 9th album is titled 『ワールドエンドの庭』 which translates to “World end’s garden”. It must be inspired by her single “The♡World’s♡End” which was used as the 2nd OP for Golden Time…. or maybe Hocchan has been watching too many post-apocalyptic movies lately.
The album jacket, booklet and limited first press photobook feature a photoshoot in England.
Looks like there’ll be two limited editions, type A and B, though I’m not sure what the differences are yet.
Tracks include (but not limited to):
- Golden time (Golden time’s OP1)
- Sweet & Sweet CHERRY (Golden time ED1)
- The♡World’s♡End (Golden time OP2)
- 半永久的に愛してよ♡ (Golden time ED2)
- この場所で (Mitsuwano OVA ED)
- Stand up! (Theme song for the smart phone game “Shironeko project“)
….That’s a lot of Golden Time.
- Animate: A3 poster
- Gamers: B2 poster
- Toranoana: A4 clear file
- Sofmap: B2 poster
- Bunkyodo: A3 clear poster
- Neowing: mousepad
- Tower Records: A4 clear file
- HMV: A4 clear file
- TSUTAYA: A4 clear file
The album is released on the 7th of January next year. Limited editions type A, B and regular edition are all the same price at 2,857yen (tax excl.) so why not take this time to save up and just buy all three?
No details yet but Minako has announced her third live tour!! I can’t believe it! There was a two year gap between her first and second but if she starts doing them yearly my life is going to be that much more exciting…
Interesting tour venues.. she’s going around in a circle from Tokyo to Osaka then back up to Kanagawa!? No stopover at Kobe?
Watch this space (or more importantly her official website) for more news!
One of my favourite seiyuu, Kotobuki Minako, turns 23 today! I’ve been thinking about Tick all day and almost forgot to wish her a happy birthday, how selfish of me.. while Minako is the star that just keeps on giving, bestowing upon us her 2nd album!!
I never expected myself to become such a big fan, in fact up until May this year I was just a casual fan who knew and liked what roles I knew of but never followed her around like I do now. It wasn’t until I saw her live in May at Kobe that I just fell head over heels in love and I’ve been an avid fan ever since. I just like everything about her; her roles and the characters that she play are all likeable and well done, the simplicity in her music and the way she’s presented in her image, is humble but impressive. I look forward to seeing her in Gundam Reconguista soon and all the other roles she’ll be playing in the future. I hope I’ll get to see her live again as well!!! Keep up the great work, Minako!!

Everyone who buys a copy also receives this clear file regardless of whether you buy the regular or limited edition:
Overall it appears that there will be seven new songs. It seems she’s trying a range of new styles in this album. I always liked her simple style but it’s interesting to see her do something new too.
I’m very excited about the blu-ray, if the format was the same as the concert in Kobe, Kousaten is going to be an amazing acoustic version with Minako on the piano 🙂 I’m surprised there will be no footage of the music star recording? I wonder which recording they will use in the album, since she did it at every venue, not just at Omiya. I wonder if the “Special live selection” means there will be no separate DVD/BD release for her Make-X concert?
I can’t help but feel everything has been quite slow, I mean there’s only a bit more than a week until her new album is out but her website is still promoting Believe-X lol. To my knowledge, most of the promotion is in her radio show. Her album cover reminds me of like some editorial photoshoot? Marieclaire?? LOL
Preview of a couple of songs from Minako’s 2nd album “Tick” have been revealed on her radio (clips courtesy to this awesome yt channel):
“Flyaway” is your typical nice fast-paced song with inspirational lyrics, and “I wanna be my precious one” (great title lol) has a really different sound to her other songs. What do you guys think?
And of course, Music Star!!
I love love love love this song, it sounds so good and it was so much fun doing the recording with everyone in Kobe ^__^ She has really great musical sense and direction and great at leading the fans too. I remember getting the English lyrics wrong haha. I wonder which version will be put into the album, since she recorded the song in all the venues, not just the last one.
Tick comes out on the 17th of September. Get your copy now!!!! (I’ll just be promoting this album like mad for the next few weeks lol)
I’m always on her website but I can’t believe I missed her 2nd announcement for so long! Why isn’t she doing more fervent promos already!!

This is the best news I’ve heard for months!! I’ve been dying for her new album ever since her live in May!!! Music Star is amazing!!!
Wait, does this mean there won’t be a separate product for her concert? I don’t even have a blu-ray player but it looks like I have no choice but to buy this limited edition!! Are these tears from laughing or crying…
Yesterday on the 13th, Nana participated in the FNS Summer Song Festival 2014 (FNSうたの夏まつり2014) and collaborated with prominent artists heavy metal singer Demon Kakka, and music veterans Kayama Yuuzou and Tokunaga Hideaki.
I really like these programs because Nana gets to sing a lot of great songs with a lot of great people and she always seems to have so much fun in all the performances. The program this year also featured other famous artists such as AKB48 and friends, T.M. Revolution, Kis-My-Ft2, Chris Hart, Suga Shikao, Momoiro clover Z, SMAP, May J and many others.
Setlist of 2014:
Desire -jounetsu- (1986) – Mizuki Nana x Demon kakka
Yume wo shinjite (1990) – Tokunaga Hideaki x Mizuki Nana
Aoi hoshikuzu (1966) – Kayama Yuuzou x Mizuki Nana
Last year she did collaborations with T.M.R, Nakagawa Shoko, Iwasaki Yoshimi and Hirahara Ayaka. Her cover of “Jupiter” with Ayaka last year was definitely the highlight of all her performances! I don’t think I can choose a favourite this year as I love yume wo shinjite and aoi hoshikuzu a lot and desire was so much fun.
I included a video of her performance with Hideaki in this post and you can find the rest of her perfomances on YouTube, although who knows for how long? Save them while you can!
